Kiteboarding Instruction in Ireland

Almost every time that I have been Kiteboarding recently, I get asked by people about how to get into the sport of kiteboarding. I always recommed that kiteboarding lessons from a qualified instructor is the best method of starting off in the sport.

The advantages of getting Kiteboarding Instruction are:
  • faster progression if you get lessons as opposed to spending weeks trying to learning by yourself
  • you'll get to learn about the equipment and how to set it up safely and how to tune if for your skill level
  • you'll avoid damaging your own equipment and save money in the long run
  • you may get a discount from your local kiteboarding equipment shop such as SurfDoc, kiteshop.ie if you get lessons. Retailers know that if you have had instruction, there is less likelihood that you'll be returning to them complaining about damaged equipment and looking to get it repaired
  • finally, Kiteboarding after getting instruction is a lot more of a positive experience, less frustrating and instruction will help you avoid injury to yourself and/or others
There are already a number of IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization ) Approved Kiteboarding Schools in Ireland. These include:

Elev8 Kiteboarding - which are a Kiteboarding school offering instruction in Sligo, Waterford and Dublin - www.elev8kiteboarding.com

Kitesurfing Ireland - Kitesurfing School based in Dublin but also organise courses around the country if requested - www.kitesurfing.ie
