EDS/HB Party Awards Voting on Kitesurfing.ie

It is that time of year again when the livers groan, the winds kick in and everything goes a little weird for the weekend.

Yes it’s party time once more for all of us kite surfers around the country. This year we are up in Mullaghmore Co. Sligo, courtesy of HB. The Beach Hotel will be our host venue, starting at 4pm on the Friday there will be the kite surf fair, with free riding on the Saturday and then the evening will see us all back to the hotel and in for the Kite Klub. Which will have some crazy music, some cool Irish Videos (if you have one ready edited and for viewing contact Ed) spot prizes and a raffle for the R.N.L.I. There will also be the presentation of the EDS/HB Trophy to this year’s lucky winner. Last year Jeff, justifiably, took the trophy home for the year and this year we are looking for a new champion, of the sport, for Ireland. What we are looking for is your nominations for the ‘most progressive’ rider of the year. What this means is who do you think has been pushing the hardest with new moves and extreme conditions, extreme drinking perhaps or even just bravery for wearing the most awful pants all year. But just as importantly They must have been and will be a great ambassador for the sport in Ireland. Age and sex are not important and neither is their technical ability but they definitely must be pushing themselves to their limits and progressing within themselves and the sport here in Ireland. What we would like you to do is list three riders who have been riding in Ireland for most of the year and whom you feel would warrant receiving the trophy. We will then collate the info and tally it up and take it with us to Mullaghmore, where we will also have a ballot on the day and this will be added to the internet vote with the verdict being announced in the evening along with the presentation of the EDS/HB Trophy and prizes. So all we need are your votes please, send them on in and we will do our best with them. We fully understand that there are a lot of you who don’t know everyone else who is out there around the country ripping it up in the quiet corners, but some body does so let us know on mass from your area if one person is doing the do. All you have to do now is contact the Kitesurfing Ireland Web site at www.kitesurfing.ie and cast your votes. Thank you for your time and look forward to seeing you there.
