Lahinch Beach - Lahinch - Co. Clare

Level: Beginner - Advanced

Shoreline: Lahinch beach faces a westerly direction. All of the beach can be surfed during low tide but it is recommended to only use the northern end at high tide especially if wind is on-shore

Wind: Wind is cleanest from a west-south west direction where it is onshore but can also work anywhere from a south-south west to a north-west direction

Water: Approx 1 mile of beach. Water surface conditions can vary considerably depending on swell. Generally lots of surf in winter. Northern end has a river flowing onto beach that can result in strong currents.

Launch: The southern end of the beach can only be used to launch at low tide. Recommended to always launch at the end of the promenade as it offers additional space and there is less activity in the water between this point and the northern end. The northern end of the beach can be used to launch during high tide.

Parking: Pay parking is available on the Promenade. However, it is usually free parking off-season.

Amenities: Pubs such as Flanagan's Bar and O'Looneys for Music and criac. Excellent food is available in the CornerStone Pub

Tips: Give the areas that the surfers are located in (directly in front of the promenade) plenty of space.

Directions:Take the N85 from Ennis and turn onto the N67 in Ennistymon towards Lahinch.
